Violet Terry

Violet Terry, 73, of Jay, NY, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at Adirondack Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born on January 2, 1947 in Keene Valley, NY to Rose and Henry Coolidge, Sr., and was married to Mitch (Skip) Terry on August 8, 1975 at her family home.

Violet worked for 27 years at the Noon Mark Diner in Keene Valley until her retirement in 2012; she always enjoyed seeing her regular customers each day. Violet loved working in her gardens, canning and cooking for family and friends, but her biggest joy was her family, whenever there was a family gathering she was always asked to bring her Spanish rice or her baked beans. She was also known for sharing her love of music with her husband Mitch as they sang for many years for the local nursing homes throughout the area.

Violet will be dearly missed by many, but especially by her loving husband Mitch; son Scott; brothers Martin (Mary) Coolidge, Ralph (Evelyn) Coolidge; sisters Carolyn (Bob) McKee, Lola (Al) Porter, and Joyce (Larry) Scovell; sisters-in-law Louise Coolidge, Edna Coolidge, Ginny Coolidge, Peggy (Edward) Miller, Patti (Joseph) Turon, and Barb Carnes; brothers-in-law Chuck Lawrence and Adam (Rena) Lawrence; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Freida, and brothers Harold, Fred, George, and Henry, Jr.

Per her request, there will be no calling hours or graveside services. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
