Roberta Furnia

AU SABLE FORKS- Roberta "Bertie" (Wright) Furnia, age 84, passed away peacefully at Adirondack Medical Center, on June 7th, 2021.

Born on October 21st, 1936, in Au Sable Forks N.Y., to Homer and Madeline Wright, she was one of eleven daughters and three sons. She was united in marriage with her loving husband of sixty-three years, Richard "Mike" Furnia, on September 14th, 1957, who predeceased her on September 14th, 2020.

Bertie was an employee of Grand Union in Au Sable Forks briefly, before becoming a devoted stay-at-home mother, and grandmother for the remaining years of her life, caring for her three grandsons. Bertie enjoyed bowling, her trips to the casino, family gatherings, and cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by her two children Becky (John) Nolan, and Keith (Trudy) Furnia, her beloved grandsons Kellen (Cassie) Nolan, Kyle (Ashley) Nolan, and Kolby Furnia. She is also survived by two special nieces Donna Maicus and Jenette Rondeau, many other nieces and nephews, as well as two sisters Anne Cross, and Carol Wisher.

She was also predeceased by her mother and father, Homer and Madeline Wright, along with eleven of her brothers and sisters.

Per her request there will be no calling hours, or graveside services. Memorial donations may be made to the Adirondack Medical Center foundation. The family would like to thank the staff at Adirondack Medical for the excellent care she received.
