Richard Arthur Winchell, a beloved husband, father, and Papa, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on September 14, 2024, at the age of 66 in Au Sable Forks, NY.
Known to be a jokester with a great sense of humor, Richard enjoyed lightening up the atmosphere and playing pranks on those around him. With a career spanning over 20 years as a dedicated truck driver, Richard also delved into the construction industry, where he showcased his talent by building houses.
Despite his busy career, Richard always found time to joke around and spend quality moments with his family. He took immense delight in the company of his children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment of them.
Richard had a passion for humor and entertainment, earning him the title of the family comedian. If you were fortunate enough, you also earned a special nickname, too.
Some of his proudest moments and memories were visiting his son in Daytona, Florida, where they shared many memorable moments. Having the chance to walk his oldest daughter down the aisle and being able to be a part of his youngest daughter raise her two boys into the amazing young men they are were among the times he was most proud.
Richard found joy being knee-deep in mud, riding four-wheelers, a favorite pastime that allowed him to embrace adventure. Notably, Richard shared an unbreakable bond with his brother-in-law Norm Coolidge, spending countless hours together and known to their friends and family as Howard and Howard, forging a friendship that shall forever be cherished.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth (Sage) Winchell; Lawrence and Elizabeth Jones; his brother-in-law Norm Coolidge; and father-in-law Henry Coolidge Jr.
He is survived by his wife Rosie; his children Alan Winchell and his wife Carrie, Betsy Winchell and her husband Alex, Nichole Winchell and her fiancée Kenny; and his beloved grandchildren Dylan Bombard, Ian Bombard, Alexis Winchell, Brayden Winchell; his mother-in-law Evelyn (Ralph) Coolidge.
