Philip Forbes

Philip J. Forbes went to the house of the Lord unexpectedly on January 27th, 2024.

He was born on January 29, 1951 in Elizabethtown, N.Y. to Beatrice (Ferris) McMurtery.

Philip was a graduate of the Elizabethtown High School. On October 26th, 1991, He married the love of his life, Alice Pelkey of Jay, NY.

In addition to his mother he is predeceased by his sister Sylvia Drew; two brothers-in-law Ronald Paquette and Donald Drew.

In addition to his wife Alice, he leaves behind two sisters Millie Paquet and Gloria (Chuck) Pfund; a daughter Courtney Pettis; and his son Jay Mills; two grandsons Benjamin and Alexander; as well as several nephews and one niece; step-children Crystal (David) Call and Michelle (George) Goyette; step-grandchildren; and step great-grandchildren.

He was a friend to many and always ready with a joke and never forgot one. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp in his earlier years. He especially liked making up board games for his nephews.

Philip will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

Private services were held.

Services were entrusted to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, Au Sable Forks, NY.
