Paul K. Coolidge (PK), 63, passed away on October 28, 2022, in Au Sable Forks, NY.
PK was born on April 21, 1959 in Keene Valley, NY, to Benjamin Paul (POP) Coolidge and Evelyn Lucille Bailey.
He graduated from Au Sable Valley Central School in 1977. In 1981 he started his career with the NYSDOC and retired after 25 years of service.
PK married Valerie Venette in 1978 and had two children, Kristi and Adam.
He was best known for logging with his father, driving school bus, coaching various AVCS athletics, Boy Scout pack leader, serving on the Town of Jay Board, Au Sable Forks Fast Pitch, fuel delivery driver, Au Sable Forks EMS, frequenting community events and an avid NY Yankees and NY Jets fan.
One of his biggest passions was the game of Texas Hold'em. Pk and Val were known for hosting poker games and creating the ADK WSOP Poker Club. This passion led them to bring their "Dream to Reality" when they were able to play in a WSOP event in Las Vegas Nevada in 2022.
PK is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Valerie, his daughter Kristi (Steve) Hackett, his son Adam (Steph) Coolidge, and his pride and joy his grandchildren Ryan, Nayma, Sienna, Maya, and Arya; three sisters, Jeanne (John) Matyas, Grace (Paul) Hoye, and Mary Beth Coolidge; father and mother-in-law, Edwin and June Venette; sister-in-law Tina (Dan) Beard; and brother in-law, Mark Venette and partner Keith Musinski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, along with many close friends that he considered family.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Pk's name to a local charity of your choice.
