Marvin Otis

November 4, 1941 — February 28, 2025

Marvin B. Otis was an only-child born to Beldon and Beatrice (Cram) Otis in Lake Placid, New York on November 4th, 1941. His family's hearts were forever broken on Friday, February 28th, 2025 when he passed unexpectedly.

He grew up in Au Sable Forks, New York, and graduated from AuSable Forks High School in 1959. He attended the State University of New York at Canton where he graduated in 1961. Marvin then began working in the automotive industry in Au Sable Forks and Keeseville, New York.

In 1977, Marvin moved his wife and family to Tucson, Arizona. In Tucson, he worked for Beaudry's RV Center - one of the largest RV dealerships in the United States at the time. In 1994, he retired from Beaudry's and moved back to the Adirondack Park in New York State. Upon returning to Au Sable Forks, he worked as a service manager at Garrand's Toyota for nine and a half years. He then fully retired from the automotive industry but never ceased to work on automotive projects for himself and others.

He loved to work on and repair anything and everything - there wasn't anything he could not fix. Marvin loved his family, his animals, and helping his neighbors and community members. He would have given the shirt off his back to anyone. His smile, sense of humor, positive attitude, and easy-going demeanor will be forever missed. The impact that Marvin had on people is the kind of legacy anyone would be proud of leaving behind.

Marvin was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Priscilla (Meixler) Otis, and daughter, Koleen Otis-Wisher. He leaves behind his broken-hearted daughters, Laura (Steve) Haws of Tucson, Arizona, and Lisa (Edward) Zielinski of AuSable Forks, New York; His grandchildren, Tyler Haws, Keegan Wisher, Kaleb Wisher, Emmie Zielinski, and Elliot Zielinski; and great-grandchildren Beau Smith and Kaleigh Grammo.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Marvin at Livingood's Restaurant and Brewery (697 Bear Swamp Road, Peru, New York 12972) on March 22nd, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Services were entrusted to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, PO Box 127, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks, NY 12912.
