Margaret Bombard

January 1, 1941 — June 8, 2023

Margaret Mae Bombard, 82, passed away on June 8, 2023, at the University of Vermont (CVPH) with her family by her side. She was born on January 1, 1941, the daughter of John and Esther (Nelson) Nolan at their homestead in the "swamp," better known as the Silver Lake Road. She married Thomas M. Bombard (Mr. Bombard) on June 16, 1962, and they were married for 56 years.

Peg, as she was known, was employed at the J & J Rogers Company, United State Postal Services, and took care of cleaning and maintenance of many homes and offices in and around Au Sable Forks. An avid seamstress and quilter, she always was creating something with her friends and family. If anyone had a project to do at their home, Peg and Tom were always willing to help. She loved her flowers and if there was ever music, she was always on the dance floor.

For the past few years, Peg was able to stay in the home she made with Tom due to the kindness, generosity, and love of her boys, Dennis Bushey and Bruce Bennett, whom she leaves behind. Although Peg and Tom never had biological children, she loved Dennis and Bruce as her own. She is survived by her siblings, Gene (Louise) Nolan, Ann (Allen) Rule and Bonnie (Howard) Hopkins and brother and sister in-laws, Joan Liberty, Alfred Bombard, Linda Singleton, Karolina Nolan, Nancy Bombard, Ken Plumadore and many nieces and nephews.

Peg was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her siblings Betty and Jim Bushey, John and Doris Nolan, George Nolan, Esther and Russell Dorr, her in-laws Charles & Florence Bombard, Blanche Plumadore, Adrian Bombard, and Dorla Bombard, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 13, 2023, at 11:00 am with Reverend Kris Lauzon presiding. Interment will be immediately following at the Fairview Cemetery. Funeral Services are being arranged by the Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home located at 3 College Street in Au Sable Forks.

Donations in Peg's name may be made to Holy Name Church, PO Box 719, Au Sable Forks, NY 12912 or Au Sable Forks Ambulance Service, PO Box 835, Au Sable Forks, NY 12912.
