Lorraine Jacobs

Lorraine Kathleen Jacobs, a beloved wife, devoted sister, and cherished friend, left us unexpectedly on January 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Lauri was born on May 19, 1956, in Lake Placid, New York, and grew up in Albany, where she laid the foundation for a life full of service and deep love for others.

Lauri proudly attended Clinton Community College where she learned and developed skills that provided her with a fulfilling career as a nursing assistant that spanned decades. As a private nursing aide and a dedicated worker at the ARC, Lauri found joy in helping people, bringing compassion and kindness to all she met. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession; she had a profound love for animals, especially her cherished cats and dogs, who brought her immeasurable joy throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Steve Bushey.

For 20 years, Lauri and her husband, Sam, traveled together to Jamaica, creating beautiful memories that they would cherish for a lifetime. Their marriage, which spanned an incredible 48 years, was a testament to their enduring love and partnership.

Lauri is survived by her devoted husband, Sam, and her beloved brothers, Alan and Gary Bushey; as well as her friends that were like family, Steve and Karin Goodrich, and Tom and Linda Tarka; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lauri's honor to local animal shelters.
