Lewis Axtell

Lewis David Axtell was born on July 7, 1943, in Boston, Massachusetts to David Webster Axtell and Mabel Greenway Axtell. He passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife Jean Axtell; his sons David Axtell and William Axtell; his grandchildren Kaylee Axtell and James Axtell; his sister Donna (Michael) Proctor; his niece Donna Proctor Berryman and Michael Proctor; he was also loved by his many Axtell and Vincent family brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Lewis trained as a chef at the Belleview Biltmore Hotel in Belle Air, Florida. He worked at many east coast grand hotels and finished his career at the Hotel Saranac, as well as his son's Adirondack Mountain Café in Upper Jay.
