Leah Jaquish

Leah Ann Jaquish passed away on February 23, 2023 at Elderwood at Uihlein Nursing Home in Lake Placid. She was born on October 18, 1944 to Benjamin Sr. and Irene (Adams) Sprague. She married Harvey T. Jaquish who passed away in 2018. 

Leah worked at Elderwood at Uihlein for many years and that is where her patients saw the passion she had in taking care of them. She was always a caretaker at heart and would help anyone who needed it. Leah loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed the time she could spend with them.

Preceding her in death are her husband; her parents; granddaughter Brooke; and siblings George Sprague, Sr., Benjamin Sprague, Jr., and Margaret Lawrence. 

She is survived by her sons, Harvey J. and Steven Jaquish; grandchildren Hope and Emalina Jaquish; and siblings, Diana (Leslie) Mitchell, Yvonne (Wayne) Ashline, and Helen (Paul Hart) Sprague.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a prayer service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home. 

A Reception will be held at the Upper Jay Fire Department, 161 Valley Road, Upper Jay, NY follow the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 127, Au Sable Forks, 12912, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
