James Parrow

James Harold Parrow, a beloved member of the Au Sable Forks community, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023, at the age of 76. Born on June 17, 1947, in Plattsburgh, NY, James was a cherished father, husband, partner, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Jim found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with his love for food being a testament to that. His favorite indulgences were cheeseburgers and Michigans, and his hearty appetite was legendary among his family and friends. He loved sports of all kinds, particularly baseball and football, with the Raiders being his favorite team. He also had a deep passion for college basketball, but his greatest joy came from watching his sons, Kevin and Patrick, play sports.

Jim had a warm heart and an infectious spirit. He valued the connections he made throughout his life and cherished his family dearly. After the passing of his wife of 40 years, Joyce, Jim found love once again and formed a strong bond with his longtime partner, Kellie DiOttaviano. They shared many wonderful memories together, offering each other unwavering support and companionship.

While we mourn the loss of Jim, we celebrate the beautiful life he lived. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin "Jug" Parrow, his wife Joyce, and his parents. Jim is survived by his devoted partner, Kellie DiOttaviano, his loving son, Patrick (Julie) Parrow, his four sisters, his cherished grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, and Kobe, his seven great-grandchildren, and Francis DiOttaviano and family.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Au Sable Forks Fire Department to honor Jim's life.
