Gregory Paul Winch, a beloved family man and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully at his home on March 16, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on June 8, 1958, in Keene Valley, New York to Arden Winch and Lois Blanchard, Greg spent his life in Wilmington, where he became a cherished member of the community.

Greg will be fondly remembered for his love of classic cars and the great outdoors. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, often spending weekends immersed in nature. Greg also held a deep love for travel, frequently venturing to Florida, where he found joy and relaxation in the sun. During his travels he had the opportunity to see the Angel Oak Tree in Charleston, South Carolina, which brought him a great deal of peace.

For over 30 years, he served the Town of Wilmington as the parks and water superintendent, as well as the sexton of cemeteries. His commitment and hard work contributed significantly to the community he loved.

Above all, Greg adored his family, and his grandchildren brought him endless happiness. He is survived by the love of his life, Kelly Adams, his children Tia Winch, Gregory (Kate) Winch, Jr., and Jesse (Vanessa) Winch; his stepchildren Jonathan Riley, McKenzie Lincoln, and Raymond Bruce; his grandchildren: Ashton Winch, Kyle Wilkerson, Dashawn Jean-Pierre, Cory Winch, Cassius Winch, Avah Winch, Jonathan Riley, Banner Winch, Scarlett Lincoln, Nora Lincoln, and Grace Riley. He is also survived by his siblings, Arden Winch, Jr., Alice Cave, Leeanne Hadley, and Grace Lawrence.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Perry; his sister Debbie; and his beloved canine companions Blue and Reba.

Greg's family and friends will gather to celebrate his life during Calling Hours at the Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home on March 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM. There will be a reception following the service at the Au Sable Forks Fire Station.
