Gary H. Burdo passed away at CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY on July 15, 2023.
Gary was born on November 30, 1952 in Plattsburgh, the son of Homer and Mildred (Lucia) Burdo. He worked at Coldspring Granite in Au Sable Forks for 37 years. Gary was proud of the many years that he was a volunteer fire fighter at the Au Sable Forks Fire Department and served as past Assistant Chief.
Gary was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed being with his friends at 20 Main.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cindy; his son Jason and his companion Carie Mattox of Plattsburgh; his father Homer; his brother Steven; sisters-in-law MaryLou, Diane, Margaret Mitchell; brothers-in-law John Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Philip VanNortwick.
He was predeceased by his mother Mildred; brother Gerald; sister-in-law Karen; brother Jimmy; sister Karen VanNortwick; and sister-in-law Donna Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Clement Rimonds officiating. Interment will take place following Mass at Fairview Cemetery in Au Sable Forks, NY.
Donations may be made in Gary's memory to the Au Sable Forks Fire Department or Au Sable Forks EMS.
