Frank L. Lovely, Sr. died on February 17, 2023 at his home in Au Sable Forks under the care of his loving family and Hospice of the North Country.
He was born on March 9, 1938 in Portsmouth, NH to Joseph and Margaret Lovely, where he grew up. He attended Coe-Brown Academy.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in Springfield, MA in February 1956 beginning a 20 year military career rising through the ranks to Master Sergeant. He was a Hydraulic Specialist, Aircraft Accessory Systems Superintendent, and Inspector.
On August 12, 1965 he married Sheila Sharrow of Au Sable Forks in Boscawen, NH, and together they raised three sons.
Upon retiring from the USAF, he worked for Northrup Aviation until 1984 as an aircraft supervisor. He was then employed by the US Postal Service as a mail carrier until March 2000 when he retired once again.
He was an avid hunter, anxiously awaiting deer season each year. He enjoyed fishing, cars-both new and old, camping at Fern Lake, and he was a lifetime Boston Red Sox fan. Frank especially enjoyed having his family around him, spending time with them, and attending all the grandchildren's events when they were in school, whether it was athletic, musical, or just playing in the backyard pool.
He was predeceased by his parents, seven sisters, three brothers, and a sister-in-law.
Frank is survived by his wife, Sheila; sons Dwayne (Cynthia) of Pattersonville, N.Y., Frank, Jr. (Penney) of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Darryl of Brunswick, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Ryan (Kelsey), Chloe Marie, and Alexa Lovely; nephews Colin (Sharron) Miller of Saranac Lake, N.Y. who has been such a help to him through his illness, and Derek Miller (Shelly) of Peru, N.Y.
