Faith Elizabeth Inglis Walton, departed this life on the morning of Sept 3, 2022. She was born March 13, 1938 in Perth Amboy, NJ to John and Faith Conard Inglis.
Mom grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ with her parents and brother, Jack. She graduated in 1955 from the Metuchen, NJ High School and in 1957 she received her diploma from the John Roberts School of Modeling. Our Mom was ALWAYS beautiful.
On March 15, 1958 she married Terrence "Terry" Walton, moved to Jay and had three daughters Merri Carol (Joe) Peck, Terri Faith (Ed) Vidock, and Sue Anne Walton (Mike Godlewski). In 1987 they adopted our brother Andrew Walton. He was one of their best choices in life.
In 1956 Mom started working as a waitress and secretary at the Land of Make-Believe in Upper Jay, NY; Co-Owner and cook at the Coffee Break Diner in Jay; a Home Health Aide: a postal clerk at the Jay, NY post office 1970-1987, and retired as Postmaster of the Lewis, NY Post Office 1987-1992. She was a foster parent for 20 years, and a loving, devoted wife and mother to all of us.
She hunted with Dad all dressed up in her plaid coat, hat, and electric socks (she did NOT like to be cold); enjoyed camping, motorcycle trips, shopping and music! She played the organ providing sweet music to whoever would listen. We grew up with Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, patriotic songs and gospel music as Mom turned up the volume and sang along. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, whom she cherished. She hosted many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners where there was always room for one more.
She leaves behind her beloved children and grandchildren Joleen Peck (Jonas Escudero), John (Rachel) Peck, Amy (Cameron) Boprey, Cassie Wellman, Shonna Huestis, Ethan Walton, Katrina Vidock, and Edward (Amy) Vidock. Her great grandchildren Josiah, Elijah, Genevieve Faith, Miriam, Merri-Jane, Seth, Evangeline, Aidan, Garrett, and Jack; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
A special mention to her faithful, lifelong friends: Cletus and Audrey Heywood, Ben and Ann Straight, Bud and Lori Hathaway, Ashley Hathaway, and Elaine (Hathaway) Perrault.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother Jack Inglis; and in-laws Grace Inglis, Ethel and Al Shalton; Lila and Bill Wilson; and Chester (Bud) and Evie Walton.
Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff and nurses at the CVPH / UVMC Skilled Nursing Facility and Dr. Guile for their love and care of our mother over the past 10 years.
