Edith Nora Howerton, born on March 30, 1941, in Plattsburgh, NY to Asa Darrah, Sr. and Marion Seguin, peacefully passed away on August 14, 2024.
Throughout her life, Edith enjoyed baking, cooking, and immersing herself in the pages of a good book. Her passion for the culinary arts led her to revel in watching cooking shows and create delicious meals. She shared the pleasure of exploration and travel with her dear sister Diana and her husband Marvin, exploring the wonders of Niagara Falls, Florida, and beyond.
In 1954, Edith married her husband Bobby Joe Howerton with whom she cherished countless memories until his passing in 2003. Edith's warmth and care extended beyond her immediate family to her friend of 60 years Mary Hart, her close friends, Audra Desotell, and Theresa and Eddie Cobb.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Joe her parents; her siblings, Asa Darrah, Jr., George Darrah, Robert Darrah; her brother-in-law Roger Howerton; her sisters-in-law Gean Darrah and Mary Howerton.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children Betty Howerton (Richard Howard) and Billy Joe Howerton; her siblings John (Linda) Darrah, Diana (Marvin) Rabideau; her brother-in-law Junior Howerton; her sister-in-law Claudia Howerton; her brother-in-law Allen (Frances) Howerton; her grandchildren Billy Joe Howerton, Jr. and Shania Howard (Brandon Houk).
