David Morris

David Bliss Morris passed away unexpectedly at his home in Au Sable Forks, NY, on November 5, 2024. He was born in Boston, MA on August 3, 1953.

Known for his love of cooking, David would often host grand cookouts in the summer, creating feasts fit for an army and relishing in the company of loved ones. A dedicated family man, he found immense joy in watching NASCAR with Jeff and Herb each Sunday, highlighting his love for companionship and shared interests.

In recent years, David's health confined him to his home, where he found solace in the presence of his cherished wife, Nancy, who was the love of his life. Together, they explored the outdoors on their side-by-side, basked in the laughter of their young grandchildren, and shared quiet moments watching the birds at the feeder.

A proud veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force for a decade, David found delight in the simple pleasures of life - from tending to his garden and mowing the lawn on his trusty riding mower, to sharing stories with his pet companions who brought him immeasurable comfort.

He was preceded in death by his stepson, Daniel Monaco; and his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Nancy; his stepchildren John (Stephanie) Gates, Michelle (Michael) Hozley, and Elena (Tim) Dearth; his step-grandchildren Brook Leon, Karissa Gray, Christopher Hozley, Tyler Gates, Ethan Dearth, Brandon Hozley, Hailey Dearth, and Ethan Monaco; several step-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Susan Moore; and his niece Sandra Rose.

A Memorial Service to celebrate David's life will be held at Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., in Au Sable Forks, NY on November 13, 2024, at 5:00 pm, with calling hours from at 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
