Conrad Knapp, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday Jan. 21, 2024 in Rutland, VT. He was born on June 30, 1932 in Keene, NY to Rolland Knapp and Susan (Perkins) Knapp. Conrad graduated from Keene Central School in 1950, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954. He then attended Albany School of Pharmacy graduating in 1958.
Conrad was preceded by sister Betty [Hall], brothers Fred and Rolland, daughter Theresa, son Kenneth.
He is survived by his partner Laryssa Parker, sister Barbara [Warner] and his brother Roger, sons Brian and David and daughters Donna and Lynn along with multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Conrad loved to travel. He would always tell you about a story which involved traveling. He and Laryssa made many trips to Europe which Conrad would come home with multitudes of stories to tell the family. He loved to take photos as well, photography was a life-long hobby of his and he could always be spotted with a camera (which probably helped on his many trips to Europe). Conrad was an active man his whole life. He played soccer for Keene (nearly lost his life from a kick to the spleen), loved to ski (helped his 6 children learn), loved to bike (let me tell you about our trip from Tupper Lake to Keene), and was a runner for many years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Keene Valley Congregational Church, 1791 NY-73 Scenic, Keene Valley, NY 12943 on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date when Conrad is interred at the Reber Cemetery alongside his father, mother, sister, brother and son.
May God bless him and keep him.
