Beverly Jane Duprey, born on May 22, 1940, in Plattsburgh, NY went to her eternal home on February 19, 2025 while relaxing at her winter retreat in North Carolina. Bev, as she was affectionately known, was the third child of Arthur and Aurella Garrow.
After her graduation from Saranac Central School Bev met the love of her life, Winston Duprey, and was married on April 19, 1961. Bev joined Winston on the Lone Eagle farm in Silver Lake and helped manage operations for the next forty years. During those years Bev was a homemaker to her three children through their adolescent years before working as an aide at AuSable Valley Central School. She retired from AVCS in 2000 and persuaded Winston into escaping winter for the next 20 years by traveling south to Wildwood, FL. She loved the years in FL and when the calendar turned to November you knew she was pressing Winston to "load the car and get heading south".
Bev was a phenomenal cook who loved to host family gatherings. No one ever left a meal hungry or with loose fitting pants! She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would radiate happiness whenever they visited. Spouse of the Turnpike Rd mayor, their home was the epicenter for local residents to visit and she enjoyed their company immensely. Those who knew Bev will remember her positivity, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. The world has lost a good soul.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Winston; son Wayne (Julie) of Silver Lake; daughter Lorri of Watertown, NY; son James (Bobbie Jo) of Silver Lake; sister Mary (Herb) Farrell of Morrisonville; five grandchildren, Wayne M (Lucy), Nicole, Patrick, James C (Zak), and Morgan along with four great grandchildren.
Bev is predeceased in death by her parents; brothers William and Russell; sisters Joyce and Carol.
