Betty Rine

Betty Stellmer Rine passed away on Wednesday April 13, 2022, at her home, on Silver Lake in the Adirondacks, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 31, 1935 in East Stroudsburg, Pa, the daughter of Doris and Kenneth Stellmer.

Betty was Postmaster for twenty six years of Henryville, Pennsylvania. She and her family were members of Keokee Chapel in Paradise Valley, Pa, until she retired in 1992. She and her husband Joe then moved to the Adirondacks to their home on Silver Lake, NY, where they joined Whiteface Community United Methodist Church.

Betty was a Renaissance Woman and mastered many cooking, hobbies and skills. She took great joy in sharing items she created with friends and family. Betty had a beautiful voice and sang in many choirs over her lifetime. She was a member of the Keokee Chapel choir and Whiteface Community UMC choirs for over 60 years.

She was treasurer of Hawkeye Conservationists of Silver Lake and the Whiteface Community UMC for many years. Betty and Joe Rine celebrated their seventieth Wedding Anniversary in October, 2021.

Betty is survived by her loving husband Joseph Rine, Sr, her son Joseph Roger Rine, Jr and his wife Nancy Rine, daughter Jackie Geer and her husband Roger Geer, Betty was predeceased by her son Kenneth James Rine. She is survived by her loving Grandchildren; Shaun Geer, Natalie Rine Tucci and her husband Adam Tucci and Jackson Rine; and Great Grandchildren Kennedy Rine and JoLeigh Rine. She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Doris Stellmer and sister Joan Heeter.

There are two memorial services planned, Whiteface Community United Methodist Church in Wilmington NY on April 16th, 2022 at 3:00 pm, and Keokee Chapel in Paradise Valley, Pa. in the near future.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be sent to Hospice of the North Country/Plattsburgh, 358 Tom Miller Rd, Plattsburgh, NY,12901.

Services were entrusted to Zaumetzer Funeral Home, Au Sable Forks, NY.
